土曜日は久しぶりに国境超え、アメリカに行って来ました。
実は、昨日解決してしまったカナダポスト（郵便局）のストライキ。６月の終わりから、日本へ送りたいものがあったのに、郵便局の職員さん曰く、いつストがはじまるかも知れないし、その確率はとても高くて、そうしたら国際郵便は途中で止まるかも、と。苦肉の策で、結局アメリカの郵便局から郵送する事にしたのがそもそもの始まり。だって国際宅急便の高さったら、もう郵便の８−９倍くらいだったので。
で、せっかく行くなら楽しんじゃえ！と言う事で、国境の向こう、ワシントン州に住むお友達と待ちあわせる事に。
We went to the US on Saturday. It's been solved but when Canada Post implied highly possibility of strike, I was desperate, because I had a stuff to ship to Japan. Fedex or so, cost like 9 times more than postoffice so I decided to do that from US post. We should also do something fun out there other than shipping stuff, should't we? So I invited my friends in WA to join our craft beer tasting.
家は国境に接する町、ラングレーにあるのでアメリカはとても近いのですが、いつもイミグレーションにかかる時間が面倒くさくて、しかも今回はアメリカ入国のヴィザも切れていて買い直さないといけないので、なおさら。
しかし！土曜日の朝１０時半にもかかわらず、ラングレーのアルダーグローブクロッシングは３レーンに車が各４台くらいしか待っていず、５分ちょっとで通過、ヴィザを買うためにオフィスへ行くと、誰も並んでなくて．．．こんな事初めてでした。オフィサー達もとても親切で、出だし絶好調！
Our house is located close to US/CANADA border but it usually takes so long to cross, so that discourages us to go USA. However, at that time, despite Saturday morning, we managed to cross the border in 5 min, and I had to buy my I-94 visa but no line-up to do so inside the office too! How lucky we were. Buy the way we went to Aldergrove crossing. It was very good staring.
まずは国境を越えてすぐの町、リンデンへ寄りました。
We stopped by Lynden, a small town right south of the border at first.
全く知らずにただ、良いカフェがあるみたい、とブランチに立ち寄ったところ、
驚く事にそこはオランダ（の様）でした（笑）。夫側の家族はオランダ系で、私も親戚に会いにアムステルダムへ行った事があるので、なんだかシミジミしてしまいした。
We didn't know anything about the town, but the small, cute town was like Holland where my husband is related. So we felt happy.
ブランチをしたカフェはここ。アベニューブレッドのリンデンカフェ。
とーっても美味しかったですよ。
We had our brunch at Lynden Cafe by Avenue Bread. It was so good!
可愛らしい町並みで、カフェやアンティークショップが沢山ありました。
この時、中の良いカナダのお友達も国境の南に居る事が分かり、あらかじめアメリカのお友達と待ち合わせをしていた場所へ合流する事になりました。
There were some other cute cafes and some Antique shops there.
We found out that good other friends of us from Canada were also around so we invited them to join us at the place we were supposed to meet up with American friends.
そしてここが、その待ち合わせ場所。もちろん（？笑）ローカルのクラフトビールのお店。Kulshanブリューイングカンパニーの２つある内のK２と言う方。最終目的地のベリンハムのちょっと手前。
The place was called Kulshan Brewing K2.
Location was a bit north of Bellingham
店内はこんな感じです。６種類の試飲が出来るフライトを買うのに、自分で選んでカードに書き込みオーダーします。
Inside of the shop was like this. My husband and I ordered a flight of 6 kind of original beer to share.
次もあるので、夫とシェアー。私達は２人共IPA（インディアンペールエール）が好きなので、３種類の違うIPAと、その他フレーバの強いビールを選びました。小さなメイソンジャーに注がれていて可愛かった！そしてもちろん美味しかった〜！このピーナツもなかなかでした。カナダ、アメリカのお友達カップルもジョインして６人で楽しみました。
3 IPA and other flavourful beers. They were all so good and also the peanuts were good! We 6 enjoyed beer there so much.
そしてベリンハムのダウンタウンへ移動。こじんまりしていますが、なかなか味わいのある町です。カッコいい建物が沢山あって、パブリックアートもあちらこちらに。
And we moved on to downtown Bellingham. It was a relatively small town but kind of tasteful. Many of architects were very interesting, and we saw some cool public arts too.

そして最終目的地アスランブリューイングへ。オーガニックのマイクロビールブリュワーで期待大です。ここは予約が取れないのですが、早めの夕食の時間に着いてすんなりパティオのテーブルが取れました。
And the last destination for us was there, organic craft beer maker, Aslan Brewing Co. They don't take any reservation but we are luckily got a table at the patio immediately.

Inside was like this. It was a bit like a green house.
私達はまたフライトをシェアー。ここにはお気に入りIPAの種類が４つもあって、それを全部とやはり香りの強そうな物をあと２つ。全部超美味しい！強いて言えば私のお気に入りはBATCH 15。 FIFAも捨てがたかったですが。とってもホッピーですが、それがトロピカルフルーツの様な芳醇な香りなんです。フライトの後はそれぞれがお気に入りをスリーブかパイント（大きなグラス）でオーダーしました。
We, all 3 couples ordered flights to share. They had 4 of our favourite IPA, so we got them all. They were all extraordinarily good! but I especially liked BATCH 15. FIFA comes second. We individually ordered our own favourite in sleeves or paints after flights.
食べ物もかなり良かったのですが、いつものごとく写真を取り忘れて食べちゃっているので、お店のページからお借りしました（笑）シーザーサラダ、サテ、ワッフルプーティン、ポータベロマッシュルームのフライをシェアしました。
Food was also so good but I forgot to take any picture as well. So I borrowed food pictures of what we eat, from their web site. Caesar salad, Satay, waffle poutine, and Deep fried portobello mushroom.
気の合うお友達と美味しいビールと食事。気温も過ごしやすくて大満足でした。
Nice beer and delicious food and, more importantly existence of good friends made everything so perfect!
最後に海に突き出す長いピア、というか遊歩道を皆で歩き解散しました。
違う町を訪ねるのは本当に楽しい！
After that, we all walked on the board-walk in the water together till we had to say good by.
