The first time my parents visited our house. Local cafes and restaurants we went.

As well as every year, summer has officially gone as labour day long weekend was gone. All schools has started.

In the long weekend, we finally had my parents over here in Fort Langley. Since our house renovation was partially done with Kitchen and living room, we could show it to them. They live in Vancouver downtown so it wasn't big deal to come here but we offer them an accommodation in a pretty artist house in the town to stay over night. The weather was so good through the weekend.

On Saturday, we got some flowers at our favourite florist in town. I chose flowers one by one as talking with a florist. How indulgent! lol. (because I didn't know individual prices of flowers when I choose)

A pretty florist. Good selection of fashionable flowers are available here.

On the way back from running around for grocery shopping, we found a very tall sunflower. My husband is 6'4 (194cm) so you can tell how tall it was.

On Sunday morning, we stopped by IKEA for shopping then headed to Nikkei (Japanese) Festival at Nikkei centre in Burnaby. We had Japanese lunch there from festival food venders outside, and then pick my parents up there to drive them back to Fort Langley with us.

Those pictures are a fabulous garden of where my parents stayed. Since our house is too small to have guests over night, we booked a place close to us for them. It was a private house own by very kind artists couple. they usually offer their second house right next to their main house as an accommodation only for long stay guests. However, they accepted our only one night request since they had no long term guest at that night. They nicely offered us to enjoy their amazing yard too.

Every beautiful details were they hand made.

Land scape was amazing too.

They had a nice workshop,  a green house and a pond too across from their main building and in between, there was a nice big patio. Above the workshop was even a spacious rooftop deck.

Everything there was breathtaking.

The view from the hill on the way back to the centre of town, was very Langley and very beautiful. Someone was riding a horse.

Well, here are pictures of all local cafes and restaurants we went in the weekend.  I was happy with my excellent choices! lol. My parents liked all of them so much.
(I borrowed some pics of cafes)

The first place we went was Blacksmith bakery cafe. I have brought their pastries sometime to my parents before and they was impressed by that perfect taste. You know, Japanese people prefer sweets a little more subtle in sweetness than ones of standard North American. And here it is! I wish I could encounter their pastries right out of their oven sometimes!

For Sunday dinner, we chose a restaurant called Nineteen 27 piano bar. There was no musician played there at that night but we got a best table in the restaurant :) We knew that the food there was great but it was better than I remember! Selection of beer and wine was excellent too. My parents,  who always indulge themselves with good food in heart of Vancouver, were impressed by their quality of food. Price was not really expensive and it was just less than 5 min on foot from us. So it was all right! We were certified.

In the morning of monday, we had some coffees at the Lelem, the river side cafe. We got an outside table so enjoyed the view. We shared a couple of blue berry scorns which my mom was excited with that tastes again. lol.

My brothers family joined us for lunch at Little White House. It was also my brother's early birthday celebration. This one is always so popular so reservation is recommended. Whole cute and old house is a cafe and a boutique. It a one of the kind with very fashionable French country style.

It was very nice weekend.

Here are some acorns of oak which I picked at the amazing yard. They are big and pretty.
Oh yeah, it's autumn.
