ご近所でカヌー。ファームに卵を買いに。お家改装進行中。Canoeing. Eggs. Renovation.

金曜日。夫が仕事場から「帰ったらカヌーに行かない？」とテキストして来たので、サンドイッチの用意をして待機。

On Friday. I got a text message form my husband that we should go for canoeing later, so I prepared some sandwiches and waited for him.

６時の時点ではまだ日差しを強すぎたので、家で夕食を住ませ、７時過ぎてからいよいよ川へ。といっても家から３ブロックのいつものフレイザーリバーの支流ですが。今年初カヌーです。行きは流れに逆らって。途中から流れが強すぎて進ます、トレッドミルみたいになりました（笑）。

It was very nice weather and by the time he was back, the sun was still high and so strong, so we decided to have dinner at home to wait a bit. We went down to the nearby river after 7, the first time in this year. At first we were padding against the current. For a while later it became like running on a treadmill -lol- , we weren't able to move forward anymore. 

帰りはオートドライブの様です。漕がなくても帰れるらくちんさ。でも沈み行く太陽に向かって行くのでもう眩しくって。

Return way was easy as automated cruise. However, we got direct hit of strong sun beam on our face! Too bright to see.

強い太陽光とのコントラストで川もが暗く沈んで見えますが、実はすごい明るさ。確実に日焼けしますよ。

This photo appears to be dark but it was because of the very high contrast form strong sun ray. Actually was very bright everywhere till 9. Couldn't help getting sun tan. 

１時間少しでギブアップ。返ると途中のカフェにて冷たい飲み物で一服。チャイラテと抹茶フラップ。

We gave up after about 1 hours and stop by a cafe for a cold drinks on the way home.  A chai latte and a matcha green tea flap.

土曜日。これまた車で５分程のファームへ新鮮な卵の買い出し。

Saturday. We went nearby farm to get some fresh eggs. 

噂には聞いていましたが実際買いに言ったのは初めてでした。お昼過ぎていたのでもう亡くなってるかと思ったのですが、幸運な事に最後の一箱をゲット。長閑な事に、勝手に取ってお金を箱へ入れるシステムです。

I have heard about it but it was the first time to buy eggs there. I thought it might be too late because we got there afternoon but luckily we could bought the last dozen. It was self-service so you just pick stuff you want and leave money in the box. A faithful community :)

フリーレンジの卵が１ダーズ３ドル（約３００円）って安くないですか？形も色もバラバラな所が本当のフリーレンジ感を醸し出しています（笑）

3 dollars for a dozen of fresh free-range eggs! They are very cheap, aren't they? I like the way that the colours and size unequal. It's more realistic to me.

ついでに動物見学。アヒルの雛達でしょうか。一杯いました。

We also met some animals there . Cute ducklings.

このヤギさんのお顔はどうしたんでしょう、唇があります（笑）。

This goat had lips? lol

毛皮の色とパターンがファッショナブルです（笑）。

This one had fashionable coat. lol

ついでにいつも家のあたりに居るステラジェイ。長い事ブルージェイだと思っていたら、フFacebookでお友達が、これはステラジェイでブルージェイはこの当たりには生息しない事を教えてくれました。奇麗で目立ちます。

This one was a steller's Jay, always hanging out around our place. I had thought that that was a Blue Jay for a while but my friend suggested that was a stealer's Jay on Facebook to me. Blue Jays were actually not found in this area.

さて、この週末にはかなりのお家リノベーションが進みました。リビングルームの木の窓枠とステイン、クラウンモールディングとベースボード。借り設置ですが前の家で暖炉のマントルとして使っていた分厚い木の居たを飾り棚としてセットしたので、少しデコレーションが出来たのが嬉しい！

We had progress of the house renovation on the weekend. Put the window frames and stained them, and attached crown mouldings and base boards. We set a plank, that used to be used as a mantle in our former house, as a low shelve below the window so I was happy to decollate on top of it. 

 

そしてこんな方も登場。カントリー調のお家に良くある動物の頭の剥製かざり。私はアンチハンティングなので、フェルト製の面白いヤツをジョークで（笑）

I have a silly assumption that any country houses have a hunting trophy animal head or at least an antler on the wall, lol. However, I'm strongly against game huntings so here it is! lol. A cute mountain goat head made of felt is on our wall instead. It's it funny?

リノベーションハ体力勝負。すっかり疲れてしまったので、夕食の支度はスッキップして近所のパブへ。肉体労度の後のこの一杯がたまりません。この時は軽めにHefewweizen, ウィートビールです。

Renovation was such a physical work. We were exhausted so skipped cooking dinner and went to a pub. A glass of cold beer after working hard was something. Our choices of the night were both Hefewweizen, the wheat beer.
